Employee morale boosted at two campus events

Kudos, gratitude and nostalgia were the focal points of Seattle Central’s inaugural Retiree Luncheon and the annual Employee Service Awards.

Earlier in the day, Seattle Central invited former employees to gather for the first retiree luncheon. The event gave more than 25 retirees the opportunity to visit the college, reminisce about their favorite memories and rekindle old friendships. President Sheila Edwards Lange, Ph.D. and Seattle Colleges Chancellor Shouan Pan, Ph.D., thanked retirees for their service and gave an update about recent college and district initiatives.

“What makes Seattle Central great and what keeps people going are the relationships that are built here,” Edwards Lange said.

The annual Employee Service Awards ceremony recognized more than 130 employees who have hit milestones with their years of service at the college. Staff received certificates and pins for the number of years they have served at Seattle Central, this year ranging from five to 45 years of service, including this year's retirees.
