Seattle Central student wins car; college to receive $5,000 donation for art programs

Seattle Central student Shelby Severin of Seattle will drive home in her new Toyota Scion xB that she won in the Blick Car Student Sweepstakes. Blick Art Materials will also donate $5,000 of Blick art supplies to Seattle Central to support the school’s art programs.

Background
Blick is new to Capitol Hill; the store opened at the corner of Broadway and Pine in the fall of 2010. The Blick Car Student Sweepstakes is part of a national campaign to support the arts community. Severin is a graphic design student at Seattle Central. She was chosen at random from 80,000 students who entered the contest at 31 participating stores in 16 states. The Seattle event, which takes place on the first day of Seattle Central’s winter quarter, will include prize giveaways, food and local entertainment.
