Seattle Central Seeks Nominations for 2011 Distinguished Alumni Award

For the first time in its 45-year history, Seattle Central Community College has established a Distinguished Alumni Award. The award will be given to an alumnus/alumna who exemplifies achievement in his or her particular endeavor in life, including academic, business and professional and civic activities.

Seattle Central is inviting nominations for its 2011 Distinguished Alumni Award. Anyone can submit a nomination by going to www.seattlecentral.edu/foundation. The deadline for submissions is March 30, 2011.

“Seattle Central has been serving the Puget Sound region for more than 40 years. More than 500,000 students have passed through our doors and today they serve our community in myriad and distinguished ways,” says Dr. Paul Killpatrick, president of Seattle Central Community College. “It is my hope that this award will showcase the contributions of our illustrious graduates, and inspire our current and future students.”

The winner of the 2011 Distinguished Alumni Award will be invited to speak at Seattle Central’s 2011 commencement ceremony at Benaroya Hall. The winner will be selected by a subcommittee of the Seattle Central Foundation Board.
