Share your views on proposed transit cuts
Proposition 1, the ballot initiative that would have provided funding for King County Metro Transit, failed to pass in April. This means that Metro Transit will move forward with a plan to significantly reduce service throughout Seattle and surrounding areas. Most routes will see service scaled back, and some will be eliminated altogether. This is particularly concerning to Seattle Central College, where many students and employees rely on regular and reliable transit service to commute to and from campus. The King County Council has scheduled public hearings on the proposed cuts. The Council may elect to amend the plan based on feedback and testimony from the public. This is an opportunity for those affected by the cuts to communicate their views about this important issue.
Three hearings are scheduled:
- May 13 in Seattle

5:30 p.m. – sign in/open house; 6 p.m. – public testimony
- May 15 in Bellevue
Bellevue City Hall – City Council Chambers

5:30 p.m. – sign in/open house; 6 p.m. – public testimony
- May 20 in Renton
Renton Pavilion Event Center
233 Burnett Ave. S.
5:30 p.m. – sign in/open house; 6 p.m. – public testimony
