Open House to feature college transfer, career programs

Free event on May 20 to include campus tours, live jazz, prizes and more

Are you thinking about enrolling in college this year but don’t know where to begin? Or you’re not sure which program is right for you? People in the community will have an opportunity to learn about Seattle Central College’s many degree and certificate programs during its annual open house on May 20. The free event, called “Spring into Central,” will be held on the main floor of the Broadway Edison Building at 1701 Broadway, and will feature campus tours, light refreshments, prizes, live jazz and more. Free parking is available at the Seattle Central garage at 1609 Harvard Ave.

Representatives from admissions and financial aid will be on hand to answer questions and help individuals begin the application process. Staff from the college transfer and professional-technical programs will also be available to provide information. Specific programs include culinary arts, maritime, information technology, creative arts and more.

Each year, more than 16,000 students choose Seattle Central to help reach their educational goals. The college offers two bachelor’s degrees, 32 associate degrees and 45 professional certificates in 28 fields of study. About half enroll in the College Transfer program to begin their education before transferring to a four-year school. One third enroll in a professional-technical program to prepare for a career.
