New lighting makes Harvard Avenue safer
If you’ve ever walked along Harvard Avenue at night, you know how dark it can be. In an effort to brighten the area and make it safer for students, faculty, staff and visitors, 21 new LED light fixtures were installed along this heavily-trafficked corridor near the Broadway-Edison building over the holiday break.
LED upgrades were originally scheduled as part of routine maintenance, but the project was expanded to address nighttime security concerns. The LED fixtures are a huge improvement in both light quality and energy efficiency and will help to keep this part of our campus community safe during evening hours.
