City of Seattle opens emergency weather shelters

With freezing temperatures, wind, and heavy snowfall forecast for the weekend of Feb. 12, the city of Seattle has opened more emergency shelters for people without homes.

The sites will be open through Sunday night, Feb. 14, to adults 18 and older, of all genders. Locations include:

  • Fisher Pavilion at Seattle Center, 305 Harrison St. (near the Armory) (operated by The Salvation Army and Compass Housing Alliance)
  • Bitter Lake Community Center. 13035 Linden Ave. N. (operated by Low Income Housing Institute)
  • Garfield Community Center, 2323 E. Cherry St. (operated by the Low Income Housing Institute For General Information
