Seattle Central student remembered through scholarship
The Forrest family created this scholarship to honor the memory of Daniel Forrest whose life was tragically cut short in 2017.
A scholarship fund was created to honor the memory of 26-year-old Daniel Forrest, a Seattle Central student who died recently.
Forrest’s parents and brother created the Daniel Paul Forrest Memorial Scholarship to honor his life and provide financial assistance to Seattle Central students. The family’s goal is to help other young people, who share Daniel’s passion for life, knowledge, friendship and a professional career, can fulfill their dreams.
Originally from Rockford, Ill., Forrest died in late April due to medical causes. He studied business and marketing at the college and planned to transfer to the University of Washington. He was known in his hometown and around campus as a bright, intelligent and happy person with a contagious smile and a passion for life. He once said, “Seize every opportunity as it arrives, you may never get a chance at it again.”
Forrest loved spending time with his family during the holidays and hanging out with friends. In his free time, he enjoyed being outdoors and hiking. Seattle Central’s Student Leadership office created a memorial for him in the Broadway Edison first floor hallway shortly after his passing.
