Gym replaces outdated equipment
Students, employees and the community are able to exercise on new, modern equipment thanks to an investment by the Mitchell Activity Center (MAC). Using student funds, the MAC replaced ten cable weight machines with Precor Commercial Fitness machines, common in many gyms.
This latest equipment is part of an ongoing effort to remake the entire gym with new equipment that in some cases was nearly two decades old.. In recent, the MAC also replaced many of the free weights and nearly all of the cardio equipment.
To accommodate the needs of people with disabilities, the MAC collaborated with Disability Support Services to add a new workout machine specifically designed for people with limited mobility.
“We want all students and employees to feel welcome and included and feel that there is something offered for them here,” MAC Director Julia Goldie said.
