“How to Plan and Pay for Higher Education” Free workshop for Hispanic/Latino/a students and families

Seattle Central Community College and the Sallie Mae Fund, in partnership with Chief Sealth High School/Proyecto Saber, present a free workshop on how to plan and pay for college.

For: Hispanic/Latino/a high school juniors and seniors (or recently graduated students) and their families in the Puget Sound area.

When: Wednesday, November 10, from 6:30 – 9:00 p.m.

Summary This workshop is designed to educate Hispanic/Latino families about the existence of financial assistance for post-secondary education (grants, scholarships, federal and state financial aid, etc.). The workshop will be presented in Spanish, with simultaneous translation in English. All attendees will receive several free publications and workbooks.

Topics 1) numerous resources available to help families prepare for the admissions process; 2) information about Seattle Central admissions, financial aid, academic and job-training programs, and student services; 4) information about HB 1079, granting in-state tuition to undocumented students; and 5) a drawing for a $1,000 college scholarship donated by The Sallie Mae Fund.
