Central operating normally amid government shutdown

Seattle Central Community College is operating normally despite a partial shutdown of the Federal government after Congress failed to pass a budget. All classes will continue to meet as normal. Central is an agency of Washington state government, but does receive federal funding for certain programs.

Officials at Central are still getting information on the possible effects of a government shutdown. It is known that the shutdown will not affect Pell Grants, the Direct Student Loan program, and the Perkins Career and Technical Education funds.

Central will update the campus community as soon as it receives more information.
