Seattle Central named “top-producer” for prestigious Fulbright program
The Chronicle of Higher Education has named Seattle Central a top-producing institution for the Fulbright Program this year. Seattle Central is one of just 23 community or technical colleges nationwide to have at least one Fulbright Scholar. This year, faculty member Jawed Zouari is currently on his second Fulbright fellowship, where he is teaching at Qatar University and researching the Tunisian revolution.
The Fulbright Program is an international exchange program sponsored by the United States government. Created in 1946, it is designed to increase mutual understanding between the people of the U.S. and those of other countries. To date, 122,000 U.S. citizens have participated, and the program awards approximately 8,000 grants annually.
The complete list is posted on the The Chronicle’s website.
