SAILS focuses on special needs students

Different learning styles shouldn’t prevent capable students from attending college.  To be successful, however, these students often need special accommodations and continuing support to navigate the challenges of college life.

At Seattle Central, a program called SAILS (Supported Academics Independent Life Skills) works with special needs students by providing individualized programs to help them complete college.

To showcase the variety of services available at the college and in the community, Seattle Central is co-sponsoring a free Resource Fair on Feb. 22.  The “Post-Secondary Support Programs Alliance of King County” will run from noon to 3 p.m. in the Atrium, Broadway Edison, 1701 Broadway.

Co-event sponsors include Seattle Public Schools and the College Living Experience organization. Parking is available on the street or in the Harvard Ave. Garage, 1609 Harvard Ave.
