Annual community celebration of MLK Jr. at Mount Zion and online
The Seattle Colleges District will host its 42nd Annual Community Celebration of Martin Luther King Jr. at the Mount Zion Baptist Church in Seattle’s Central District this Friday Jan. 16 from 12 to 1:30 p.m.
Artist and writer Barbara Earl Thomas will deliver the keynote speech, and Tonya Mosley, who was recently named one of Seattle Magazine’s most influential people of 2014, will emcee the event. Award-winning Gospel musicians DaNell Daymon and Greater Works will provide musical accompaniment.
Students, faculty and staff are invited to attend in-person or via webcast. For the first time this year, SCCtv will tape and stream the program live. Seattle Central’s campus will host a webcast in room BE1110 from 12 to 1:30 p.m.
