Help veterans support one another at annual scholarship fundraiser
Seattle Central’s chapter of the Student Veteran’s Association (SVA) supports a community of more than 300 veterans each year by holding weekly meetings, hosting events, coordinating activities and connecting members to the resources they need. In the tradition of vets helping each other, each year the SVA raises funds to help a deserving veteran pay for school. To meet this goal, the group is holding its annual Warrior Scholar fundraiser on May 8 at the Elk’s Club on at 8 p.m., with live music, delicious food and a cash bar. Doors will open at 7:30 p.m. and the SVA will kick-off the night with a short presentation at 8 p.m.
Can’t attend but still want to support veterans on campus? You may purchase a ticket without attending. Just indicate in the comment section of the purchase page that you would like to donate your seat, and organizers will match it with a student veteran who would be unable to attend otherwise.
Tickets are $20 for students or veterans, and $25 for the general public. Tickets are available online.
