New Saturday hybrid classes to provide flexible pathway for transfer degree completion
Students now have more options to complete College Transfer degrees, as hybrid class offerings have been expanded to allow students to enroll in Saturday-only classes in addition to the previously offered weekday and evening hybrid classes. Saturday hybrid classes (listed “Sa” in the class schedule) meet for only 2-3 hours per week and students complete the rest of the coursework through flexible online learning.
Fall Quarter Saturday offerings include:
- English Composition I (ENGL&101)
- Intercultural Communication (HUM 105)
- Preparatory Mathematics (MATH 080)
College Transfer degrees are often an important step in helping students earn a bachelor’s degree. Hybrid classes give students more flexibility by combining on-campus class time with online coursework. Hybrid classes are non-cohort model, so any student beginning or continuing an associate degree may register for them at the beginning of any quarter. Students can mix and match Saturday hybrid courses with weekday, evening and online classes to create a schedule that meets their needs.
With the expansion, it will be possible for working professionals to complete an Associate of Arts transfer degree entirely through Saturday hybrid classes and in as little as two years. Students interested earning a degree through hybrid and/or online courses are encouraged to meet with an advisor to discuss their academic planning and scheduling goals. In addition to hybrid courses, Seattle Central provides students with other alternative course formats including seminar courses and online courses that can help them earn a degree.
We also now offer a $25/quarter parking pass, which provides a low cost parking option for students with night and Saturday classes.
