College appoints new workforce dean

Chris Sullivan has been named the new Executive Dean of Workforce Education. In this role, he will lead the development of career-focused certificates, associate degrees and bachelor’s degrees, and build productive external partnerships with industry and the community, among many other duties.

Sullivan currently serves as dean of the Business, Information Technology and Creative Arts (BITCA) Division, a position he has held since 2013. His 16-year tenure at Seattle Central also includes stints as both a full- and part-time instructor in the Graphic Design program.

According to Vice President of Instruction Bradley Lane, Sullivan’s considerable experience as a dean and his record of forming relationships with businesses made him a natural choice for the position. He earned a master’s degree in Higher Education and a bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, both from Central Washington University, and begins his new position in January.
