Employees recognized at service award ceremony

Seattle Central employees gathered last week to celebrate the service of their fellow colleagues during the annual Employee Service Awards Ceremony. In all, 150 faculty and staff members received recognition for their service, awarded in five-year increments, beginning with five years of service. The highlight of the ceremony was Marlene Palazzo, an instructor in the Business IT program, who reached the astounding 55-year service milestone this year. Marlene began working at Edison Technical School in 1962 before it became Seattle Central College.

Seattle Central President Sheila Edwards Lange, Ph.D., and Seattle Colleges Chancellor Shouan Pan, Ph.D., thanked each of the awardees for their dedication to the college’s staff and students.
