Employees recognized for lifelong learning
Two Seattle Central College employees have received Lifelong Learning Awards, given annually by the Seattle Colleges District Board of Trustees to recognize exceptional faculty and staff and encourage them to actively pursue learning.
Paul Verschueren, a part-time faculty member in the Science, Technology, Engineering and Math Division, and Tina Young, interim diversity and equity officer and director for Director, Equity and Inclusion, will each receive grants to be used toward a professional development opportunity. Additionally, the trustees will formally recognize them during District Convocation Day in September.
“Paul and Tina embody the values that we hold dear at Seattle Central – that each of us can continue to gain new knowledge and skills to become better at our jobs, and that learning takes place throughout our lives, no matter our position or age,” said Seattle Central President Sheila Edwards Lange, Ph.D.
