Saturday “hybrid” classes help students with busy schedules
Students have more options to create a schedule that meets their needs
Seattle Central is offering new courses this fall that will help students add flexibility to their course schedule. “Hybrid” classes combine online coursework with in-person sessions, offering the benefit of meeting with instructors and fellow students without the time commitment of a normal in-person course. This is a great option for full-time working adults and others with time constraints.
Hybrid classes are limited to courses in the College Transfer program. Saturday hybrid classes (listed “Sa” in the class schedule) meet for two to three hours per week, and students complete the rest of the coursework through flexible online sessions.
Fall Quarter 2017 hybrid courses include:
- English Composition I (ENGL&101)
- Preparatory Mathematics (MATH 080)
- Intercultural Communication (HUM 105)
Those interested in earning a degree through hybrid and/or online courses are encouraged to meet with an advisor to discuss their academic planning and scheduling goals. To make it easier for students to access their on-campus class sessions, Seattle Central offers a low-cost $25 parking pass for those enrolled in classes that only meet evenings or Saturdays.
