Instructor discusses new Obama initiative on MSNBC
Humanities Instructor Daudi Abe, Ph.D., discussed President Obama’s new initiative to help minority youth during an appearance on MSNBC this morning.
This week, President Obama launched “My Brother’s Keeper,” a $200 million commitment form nine foundations to bolster the lives of young men and boys of color. During the interview, Dr. Abe spoke about the importance of community colleges like Seattle Central in helping young men of color.
In addition to teaching courses, Dr. Abe is an author who recently published “6 ‘N the Morning,” a book that examines the West Coast hip-hop culture in the late eighties and early nineties.
