Design students to display creative projects in two popular events
It is time for graduation and the creative talents of Seattle Central students are overflowing in final projects that will be on public display around campus.
On June 17, graduates from the School of Apparel Design & Development will feature portfolios of original fashions for men, women and children during “Off the Bolt.” Each student designed an original fashion line for this final showcase. These one-of-a-kind pieces can be seen from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. in the Atrium of the Broadway Edison Building, 1716 Harvard Ave.
Then, on June 18 and 19, graphic designers and commercial photographers of the Seattle Central Creative Academy will display their work during “2014 Portshowlio.” Using technology, artistic inspiration and vivid colors, the graphics and photo exhibits are inventive and inspiring.
On June 18, there will be a professional reception from 5 to 9 p.m. On June 19, the gallery is open to the public from noon to 5 p.m., followed by a Friends & Family reception from 5 to 9 p.m. on the Fifth floor of the Broadway Edison Building, 1701 Broadway.
Both student showcases are free and open to the public. Parking is available in the Seattle Central garage, corner of Harvard and E. Pine.
