SVI launches new program to train low-income adults for healthcare careers
To help individuals transition to its healthcare workforce programs, SVI will launch the Health Workforce for the Future program. Funded by the state Opportunity Grant, which trains low-income adults for high-wage, high-demand careers, this program will prepare students to enter the Dental Assistant, Medical Assistant and Nursing Assistant programs at SVI.
In the eight-week program, students learn math and language skills while earning 12 credits that are transferable directly to SVI programs. Students will also receive support, including training for entrance exams, financial assistance, academic tutoring and job search help.
